Thursday, July 24th, 1969: Suspensions Handed Out for Bench-Clearing Brawl
The league decided to come down hard on Ken Berry of the Expos and Jim McAndrew of the Dodgers for their roles in a brawl during a game between Montreal and Los Angeles at Parc Jarry. Both combatants will receive 5-game suspensions because of their confrontation.

So far this year Berry has hit .271 with no home runs, 5 RBIs and 10 runs scored.

In 20 starts this season, McAndrew has recorded 7 wins and absorbed 4 losses. He has pitched 118.1 innings, allowed 123 hits, struck out 93 and has a 3.95 ERA.
