Wednesday, July 30th, 1969: Joe Morgan of New York (N) Injured, DTD
Is Joe Morgan going to tough it out and play through an injury? We'll get the chance to find out in the next one week as the outstanding New York (N) second baseman attempts to shrug off a strained calf muscle he sustained running the bases against the Seattle Pilots. Whether the management lets him play or handles him with kid gloves will depend mostly on how Morgan feels on a day-to-day basis. But there's little doubt that the New York (N) Mets will be happy for the talented player to return at full strength as soon as possible.

Morgan is swinging at a .293 pace on the year with 9 home runs, 38 RBIs and 73 runs scored. He has played in 100 games.
