 | Sunday, August 17th, 1969: Season Possibly Over for Bruce Von Hoff The season is ending on a bad note for Bruce Von Hoff, starting pitcher for the Houston Astros. It was announced today that he will miss the rest of the season because of injury. Von Hoff was hurt against the Chicago (N) Cubs while throwing a pitch.
