Monday, September 1st, 1969: Washington's Nolan AL Top Pitcher
Gary Nolan hasn't been around the big leagues long enough to know that youngsters shouldn't be winning American Pitcher of the Month. But when you put up numbers like his, you're going to get some notice.

In August the Washington starter earned a 5-2 mark in 8 starts. He threw 61.2 innings, struck out 64 and compiled a solid 2.92 ERA.

In the 1969 season Nolan has 21 wins and 10 losses and a 2.51 ERA.
