Monday, September 8th, 1969: Star of the Week Named in AL
There's nothing like being in the prime of your baseball career -- and playing like it. Just ask Tony Oliva, the Minnesota right fielder, who swung a sweet bat all week to not only aid his team, but also pick up the American Player of the Week honors.

Oliva piled up 12 hits in 25 at-bats, no home runs and 5 RBIs while hitting .480.

This year Oliva has hit at a .253 clip with 63 RBIs, 12 home runs and 64 runs scored.
