Saturday, September 13th, 1969: Season Possibly Over for Reggie Jackson
The doctors have spoken and Reggie Jackson of the Philadelphia Phillies didn't like what he heard. The 23-year-old right fielder is almost certainly gone for the rest of the year and depending on his progress could miss some of next season as well. Jackson sustained his season-ending injury during the Montreal Expos game yesterday at Shibe Park. He had to leave the game because he hurt himself while running the bases. Today the Philadelphia medical staff reported Jackson had a inguinal hernia and would be absent from the lineup for at least 3 weeks.

This season Jackson is hitting at a .276 pace with 26 home runs, 82 RBIs and has scored 88 times.
