Other Reality Baseball 2 News Article | | | Friday, September 26th, 1969: Jones Hits in 25 Consecutive Games The Brewers proved to be mere mortals today as they lost to the Reds 2-0, but Cleon Jones continued his god-like hitting as he collected 1 hit and ran his hitting streak to 25 games.
When asked about his torrid-hitting right fielder, the Milwaukee skipper said, "Jones is playing great and is on fire now. Hopefully his play can spark the rest of our team and help us pick up some wins."
Jones was apparently not happy with the game and when pressed by reporters in the locker room only said, "We lost the game. Nothing else really matters." C. Jones grounded out in the 1st, struck out in the 4th, struck out in the 6th and singled in the 9th.
Jones is batting .340 this year with 15 home runs, 96 RBIs and 78 runs scored. He has 205 hits in 603 at-bats. | |
