Wednesday, October 1st, 1969: Jack Lamabe Blanks St. Louis
Jack Lamabe of the Pittsburgh Pirates whitewashed the St. Louis Cardinals 4-0 in a complete-game win, limiting them to 3 hits while chalking up 6 strikeouts and giving up no walks.

Talking to BNN writers after the game, his manager said, "He's got the makeup. He's not afraid to challenge guys. Jack is pretty poised out there. He knows how to pitch and how to use his stuff."

In the 1969 season Lamabe has recorded a 12-12 mark. In 34 starts he has fanned 143 batters in 228 innings with a 2.80 ERA.
