Other Reality Baseball 2 News Article | | | Thursday, October 2nd, 1969: Astros Chill Jones's Hot Streak The Milwaukee Brewers lost to the Houston Astros 5-2 today at County Stadium II, but perhaps the bigger news was the end of Cleon Jones's 28-game hitting streak.
"We felt if we could slow down Jones, we would win the game," the Astros manager explained after the game. "They really seemed to feed off of his streak, so we really wanted to make sure they had nothing to feed off of."
Jones on the season is hitting .340 with 15 home runs. His stats include 96 RBIs and 83 runs scored. | |
