Independence League News Article | |  | Tuesday, May 20th, 1969: Bears Pena Blanks Clippers Denver pitcher Orlando Pena blanked the Columbus Clippers 9-0, tossing a 3-hitter while issuing 2 walks and collecting 5 strikeouts.
After his sharp shutout performance, he said that he gives a lot of the credit to his batterymate. "Me and him are just locked in out there. He's so great at having a feel for hitters. I couldn't do what I'm doing without him."
So far this season, Pena has logged a 3-3 record with a 3.58 ERA. He has started 8 games, hurled 55.1 innings and registered 26 strikeouts and 22 walks. | |
