 | Monday, September 22nd, 1969: Texas's Blue Nets KMLL Hurlers Award The Texas clubhouse staff referred to him as "the kid" this season. Next year Vida Blue will have to have a new nickname. He earned it after winning the 1969 Kenesaw Mountain Landis League Hurlers Award. Blue made 33 starts this year, winning 16 and losing 9. He threw 226.1 innings, fanned 207, allowed 218 hits and 77 walks, while holding opposing teams to a .249 average as he logged an impressive 3.30 ERA. |
