Monday, August 5th, 1968: James Goes on Rampage Against Bisons
It's not something you read about in the sports pages every day -- a 5-for-5 day. It may only come around once in a career -- a lot of players never have one -- but Charlie James got one today. He scattered hits all over Banner Island Ballpark to pace Miami to a 15-1 victory over Buffalo.

The Buffalo skipper told reporters in the press room, "Tip your hat to him. He hit some good pitches. According to the scouting report, James hit several that he is not supposed to hit."

C. James singled in the 2nd, hit an RBI double in the 3rd, hit a three-run triple in the 3rd, doubled in the 5th and singled in the 7th.

In 1968 James is batting .347 with 41 hits, 5 home runs, 34 RBIs, 10 walks, .397 OBP and has scored 13 runs. He has played in 81 games.
