Independence League News Article | |  | Thursday, September 19th, 1968: Top Pitcher Trophy Won by Dukes Hardin The Albuquerque clubhouse staff referred to him as "the kid" this season. Next year Jim Hardin will have to have a new nickname. He earned it after winning the 1968 Alexander Cartwright League Hurlers Award.
Hardin made 35 starts this year, winning 15 and losing 4. He threw 221.2 innings, fanned 184, allowed 162 hits and 53 walks, while holding opposing teams to a .203 average as he logged an impressive 2.35 ERA. | |
