Wednesday, October 1st, 1969: Jack Lamabe Blanks St. Louis
Jack Lamabe of the Pittsburgh Pirates whitewashed the St. Louis Cardinals 4-0 in a complete-game win, limiting them to 3 hits while chalking up 6 strikeouts and giving up no walks.

Talking to BNN writers after the game, his manager said, "He's got the makeup. He's not afraid to challenge guys. Jack is pretty poised out there. He knows how to pitch and how to use his stuff."

In the 1969 season Lamabe has recorded a 12-12 mark. In 34 starts he has fanned 143 batters in 228 innings with a 2.80 ERA.
Friday, September 19th, 1969: Number 300 for Killebrew
It was an historic day in the life of Harmon Killebrew. The 33-year-old Houston first baseman recorded the 300th homer of his career in the Astros 7-1 triumph over the Pittsburgh Pirates.

In the clubhouse after the game, Killebrew told BNN, "I was just looking for a ball to drive... and I got one."

During his career Killebrew has notched 1268 hits and a .243 average with 300 home runs and 874 RBIs.
Sunday, August 10th, 1969: Reed Shuts out Milwaukee
The Pittsburgh Pirates shut out the Milwaukee Brewers behind the 2-hit pitching of Ron Reed, winning by the score of 9-0 at Forbes Field.

This year Reed has 9 wins and 11 losses and a 3.16 ERA.
