| Breaking News |  | Friday, August 15th, 1969: Goldy Bangs Out 5 Base Hits The Omaha Dodgers upended the Louisville Colonels at Athletic Park today in large part to right fielder Purnal Goldy, who had a smashing day with the bat -- he racked up 5 hits in 5 at-bats -- and help propel the Dodgers to a 13-2 victory.
P. Goldy singled in the 1st, singled in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, singled in the 5th and singled in the 7th.
Currently Goldy is batting .262 with 21 home runs and 56 RBIs. |  | Friday, August 8th, 1969: Bahnsen Spins Shutout In an excellent mound performance, Stan Bahnsen of the Indianapolis Indians whitewashed the Louisville Colonels 5-0 on a 4-hitter.
He said after the game, "I had my best stuff and did a good job of mixing up my pitches."
The Louisville manager said, "We just didn't swing the bats well today. Bahnsen did a good job keeping us guessing."
In all, the Indianapolis hurler rang up 7 strikeouts and 2 walks in the shutout win.
Bahnsen has gone 10-8 this season with an ERA of 2.98 and 98 strikeouts in 148 innings pitched. Other clubs are hitting .234 against him. |  | Thursday, July 24th, 1969: Renko Shuts out Louisville "He's got a bunch of different arm angles and his ball was really moving," said the Louisville manager after watching Steve Renko of the Texas Rangers humiliate his club 2-0 in a fine 4-hit shutout.
"If I make good pitches, I'm going to get some outs," Renko said after he befuddled the Colonels. "I was making good pitches the entire game."
He whiffed 4 and walked 3 in the complete game effort.
