Friday, August 8th, 1969: Bahnsen Spins Shutout
In an excellent mound performance, Stan Bahnsen of the Indianapolis Indians whitewashed the Louisville Colonels 5-0 on a 4-hitter.

He said after the game, "I had my best stuff and did a good job of mixing up my pitches."

The Louisville manager said, "We just didn't swing the bats well today. Bahnsen did a good job keeping us guessing."

In all, the Indianapolis hurler rang up 7 strikeouts and 2 walks in the shutout win.

Thursday, July 24th, 1969: Renko Shuts out Louisville
"He's got a bunch of different arm angles and his ball was really moving," said the Louisville manager after watching Steve Renko of the Texas Rangers humiliate his club 2-0 in a fine 4-hit shutout.

"If I make good pitches, I'm going to get some outs," Renko said after he befuddled the Colonels. "I was making good pitches the entire game."

He whiffed 4 and walked 3 in the complete game effort.

This season Renko has gone 5-12 with an ERA of 4.22, posting 128 strikeouts in 151.1 innings.
