Monday, September 22nd, 1969: Texas's Blue Nets KMLL Hurlers Award
The Texas clubhouse staff referred to him as "the kid" this season. Next year Vida Blue will have to have a new nickname. He earned it after winning the 1969 Kenesaw Mountain Landis League Hurlers Award.

Blue made 33 starts this year, winning 16 and losing 9. He threw 226.1 innings, fanned 207, allowed 218 hits and 77 walks, while holding opposing teams to a .249 average as he logged an impressive 3.30 ERA.
Sunday, September 7th, 1969: Is Deal Brewing for Snyder?
In the latest churning of the rumor mill, reports indicate that 35-year-old right fielder Russ Snyder of the Texas Rangers could be on the trading block. While the player refused to comment, the team did not outright deny the claims. "If it'll help this team, we'll make a move," said one team official.
Monday, September 1st, 1969: Texas's Campbell KMLL Star of the Week
27-year-old Dave Campbell sent shock waves through Independence League last week with an eye-popping performance that brought him the Kenesaw Mountain Landis League Player of the Week Award.

A newcomer to the league, Campbell made the establishment sit up and take notice, punishing opposing pitchers with a .481 average, 13 hits in 27 at-bats, 2 home runs and 4 runs batted in.

Where the Texas Rangers second baseman goes from here, only the baseball gods know for sure, but Campbell certainly made his mark last week.

This season Campbell has hit 12 home runs and posted a .275 batting average.
