| Breaking News |  | Friday, August 15th, 1969: Goldy Bangs Out 5 Base Hits
The Omaha Dodgers upended the Louisville Colonels at Athletic Park today in large part to right fielder Purnal Goldy, who had a smashing day with the bat -- he racked up 5 hits in 5 at-bats -- and help propel the Dodgers to a 13-2 victory.
P. Goldy singled in the 1st, singled in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, singled in the 5th and singled in the 7th.
Currently Goldy is batting .262 with 21 home runs and 56 RBIs.

 | Tuesday, July 1st, 1969: Rooker Snags KMLL Top Hurler Trophy
Jim Rooker took a much-deserved turn in the spotlight earlier today as he accepted the Kenesaw Mountain Landis League Pitcher of the Month award for June.
The 26-year-old Dodgers starter is a relative newcomer to the league, but nonetheless racked up an impressive 4-1 won-lost record in 6 starts. He has fanned 32 batters in 42.1 innings and sports a 1.70 ERA.
This season Rooker has crafted a 6-5 mark with a 3.32 ERA in 103 innings. Opposing clubs are batting .237 against him and he has 69 strikeouts.

 | Monday, June 30th, 1969: Swoboda Nabs KMLL Weekly Award
Ron Swoboda has been in a real groove lately. The 24-year-old Omaha Dodgers left fielder nabbed Kenesaw Mountain Landis League Player of the Week honors today after beating up on opposing pitchers all last week.
Swoboda's hot streak featured 13 hits in 27 at-bats, 5 home runs, 7 RBIs, 10 runs scored and a .481 average.
In 63 games this season Swoboda is batting .326 with 85 hits and 15 home runs. He has scored 54 runs and driven in 41.
