"Sometimes I was smart... and sometimes just a little lucky." That's how Bill Graham of the Fort Wayne Freeze described his shutout victory over the Hawaii Islanders. Graham blanked them 4-0 on 6 hits while striking out 12 and walking 1.
Over the season Graham has thrown 116.2 innings and dished out 141 strikeouts with a 4-6 mark and a 2.31 ERA.

In the latest churning of the rumor mill, reports indicate that 30-year-old starting pitcher Milt Pappas of the Hawaii Islanders could be on the trading block. While the player refused to comment, the team did not outright deny the claims. "If it'll help this team, we'll make a move," said one team official.

 | Saturday, June 28th, 1969: Unknown, Unknown Suspended for Fracas
Baseball confrontations occasionally get intense and sometimes that tension becomes too much and boils over into more than just words. This time it happened to Oklahoma City's Joe Unknown and Hawaii's Joe Unknown. The two were the main participants in a fight that cleared the benches. Today both were suspended by the league for 8 games for their aggressive actions.
"I hope things settle down now," the manager of the Islanders said later. "There's no reason for us to be locked in a cycle of revenge. We all need to focus on baseball instead."
