Monday, August 4th, 1969: KMLL Announces Player of the Week
At the age of 34, Donn Clendenon might have some potential he hasn't realized yet -- if his success at the plate last week is any indication. The Akron first baseman put up some exceptional numbers the past seven days collecting the Kenesaw Mountain Landis League Player of the Week Award.

At Athletic Field Archie Moore was the King of Swing today in the 9-4 win over the Shadows. The Indianapolis right fielder stepped into the batter's box 5 times against the Akron and delivered 5 hits.

It was a sensational game for him. He told the press, "Unbelievable feeling. It felt good. 5 for 5! It does wonders for your batting average, too."

A. Moore singled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, hit a two-run double in the 5th, hit an RBI single in the 6th and hit a two-run home run off N. McRae in the 8th.

Currently Moore is batting .269 with 42 hits and 1 home run. He has knocked in 13 runs and scored 21 times.
