Monday, September 9th, 1963: Yankees Chill Causey's Hot Streak
The Kansas City Athletics lost to the New York Yankees 6-0 today at Municipal Stadium I, but perhaps the bigger news was the end of Wayne Causey's 22-game hitting streak.

"We felt if we could slow down Causey, we would win the game," the Yankees manager explained after the game. "They really seemed to feed off of his streak, so we really wanted to make sure they had nothing to feed off of."

Thus far in 1963 Causey is hitting .277 with 11 home runs, 56 RBIs, 78 runs scored and has compiled a .338 OBP.
