Friday, September 6th, 1963: Causey Hits in 20 Consecutive Games
Athletics shortstop Wayne Causey was beaming today after his team had beaten Los Angeles 6-3 at Municipal Stadium I. He had contributed 3 hits to the victory and extended his hitting streak to 20 games.

"Life is good when the hits keep coming like they have in the last few weeks. I hope I can keep it up a little while longer."
W. Causey grounded out in the 1st, grounded out in the 3rd, hit a three-run triple in the 4th, singled in the 7th and hit an RBI single in the 9th.

This season Causey is hitting at a .278 pace with 11 home runs, 55 RBIs and has scored 77 times.
Friday, August 23rd, 1963: Newman Cruises to Shutout
Los Angeles rode the magical arm of Fred Newman in a 4-0 shutout win over Washington. He shackled them on 5 hits and fanned 2. Almost to a man, the Washington Senators said he had them guessing wrong all game long.

In 31 starts this season Newman has compiled a 14-5 record and a 1.70 ERA.
Friday, July 19th, 1963: Rumor: Unhappy Bilko Leaving Angels
In the latest churning of the rumor mill, reports indicate that 34-year-old first baseman Steve Bilko of the Los Angeles Angels could be on the trading block. While the player refused to comment, the team did not outright deny the claims. "If it'll help this team, we'll make a move," said one team official.
